Saturday: trip to Costco for diapers

Sunday: trip to the former New Jersey State Aquarium (now spruced up and renamed "Adventure Aquarium" -- it costs $17 to get in).




Sunday night: nothing good on


Monday morning: breakfast in the grown-up chair

A few clips stitched together courtesy of Eyespot and Vimeo. (The whole thing is a little under two minutes long.) We spent a week in the vicinity of Point Reyes, CA (click to see the exact location; the place was called Olema Cottages, a funky little mini-farmstead featuring chickens, ducks, a rabbit, and a dog named Yogi). Zeeky had a blast. In this little video, you can see him discovering two things: seagulls (that's what he's waving his arms and pointing at; if you listen close, you can hear him saying, "Seagulls, seagulls!") and sand. You can also, of course, admire the stunning Pt. Reyes scenery in the background. I think this is from Drakes Beach, or maybe Limantour Beach, if you know the area.

Who knew broccoli could be funny

If you look close, you can see a tiny broccoli bud on his left jowl. He has gotten in this habit of chomping on broccoli (apparently he likes the taste; he asks for it by name, as "brocky") and then spitting out most of it. I guess it's too fibrous to chew very well.

He is a dancin' fool

Zeke likes to dance. This is a Jay-Z collaboration with Panjabi MC. I made this video with a low-end digital still camera when Zeke was about 15 months old.

Hello and welcome to Life with Zeeky

Welcome to my new blog. This is going to be a diary of sorts — at least, that's my current plan — with a lot of audio posts (via Audioblogger) and photos. As the title indicates I am interested in keeping some kind of ongoing record of Zeke and his development. I have been intending to keep a diary about him for some time; maybe this will make it easier, especially the fact that I can easily integrate pictures and videos of him and just as easily phone in an audio post in five minutes from my cell phone. I have no idea whether anyone will ever read this, but I probably will.

Here's my very first audio post — I phoned it in this morning after dropping Zeke off at daycare. He'd done a few cute and interesting things that I wanted to remember.
